NOTHING is EVER EASY!!!

I can't believe this! Last night Michael said I could hook up the new computer, provided that on Xmas day I don't pout because I have no big presents to open. I have no problem with that! Well it looks like I have nothing period! I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Andrea (thanks Andrea and Phil) trying to get 1) an internet connection and 2)the stuff from my old computer to my new computer. Got absolutely nowhere! Now I've been on the phone with Dell for almost an hour and they are trying to tell me I need to spend another $240 to buy a Software Maintenance contract because it's most likely some software problem that's not covered by my warranty. I told them to transfer me to Customer Service for an RMA number because I'm not spending another penny. The darn computer should work and should be covered for at least a certain amount of time. Mind you they won't like the fact that I bought 2 computers (one for my mom) and I'll tell them both are coming back if they don't fix my problem!

This is so maddening!

Oh and my cable company changed so my email is changing too, I got the switch done but I can't get outlook to recoginze it! I guess I'm not the only one because a friend with the same provider just told me she's having the same trouble! UGH!!! This is going to be a great day!

Hopefully everyone else has a wonderful Saturday!

They aren't serious are they? You buy a new computer (well, two technically), they should be able to run no matter what. To have to buy extra over and above is just silly. Shame on Dell!
I hope they smarten up so you don't have to send it all back.

I'm so sorry Pam! Did you try calling back to talk to a different rep? That sucks. I know you were so looking forward to your new computer. :-( They should be able to make the damned thing work out of the box.

I refuse to buy from Dell ever again. I spent EIGHT hours on Thanksgiving Day 2005 on the phone to their customer service with people I could not understand because the hard drive died after only eight months. Never again!

Just got a new Dell Inspiron laptop and I'm in the process of moving some files over but most everything important is on the EHD so it's been a smooth transition. But I am trying to work out my email, a shopping cart for my site, and point my domain name to my blog and it's been a mental drain. I share in your frustration!

I really hate computer problems....mainly because I have no idea how to fix them. Good luck Pam. I hope you find someone who knows what their doing and can get your new computer up and running.
