WARNING – Whiny Post Ahead!

I am sick of being sitting around. The Worker’s Comp Insurance people denied my MRI so I have to go back to the doc to figure out an ‘alternative’ to that. Nice huh? Oh and they paid me 1/2 of my normal week’s pay. I did my taxes and we owe the IRS so much money I can’t even type the amount cause it makes me sick to think of it! Oh yeah, DH is real happy with our new windows and siding but taking money out of your 401K is NOT the way to pay for things! Let’s see, think that’s enough well me too because it’s depressing so I’m gonna stop now! And if you made it through this post after the title you are a true friend!

This is my life for awhile…

I will be looking at this view until at least February 3rd maybe longer. The doc took me out of work until they can get the MRI done and figure out what is up with my knee.

The third computer is my work laptop. Technically I can’t work from home but I am going to check email in case I need to respond to anything or ask anyone do follow up on anything for me. Plus I have to enter my time sheet of zero hours every day! LOL!

The orthopedic doc thinks it is a meniscus and that arthroscopic surgery will be in my near future. YAY.  not

I’m supposed to have my MRI today BUT the Workers' Comp Ins company called yesterday and told me that I need another approval since it is a Massachusetts related injury. Their rules are different, why am I not surprised. So I have to call someone at 9am hoping that my paperwork went through or I have to reschedule it.  Which on one hand would be ok since we are supposed to get another FOOT of snow today! Crutches + snow = bad things with me.

Can you say fun? I was really hoping 2009 would be better than 2008 and here it is only January!

So at least I’ll be able to comment on everyone’s blogs (aren’t you thrilled) because I will be reading from the blog instead of a reader at work and I’ll be able to see pics! YAY!  So make sure you post lots so I don’t go batty here and if there are any of you that like to chat on the phone call me cause seriously I can’t do anything but play on the computer and watch tv as my scraproom is in the basement.  I guess I may have to start printing some of my digi pages or my albums will never get caught up!

I Scrapped!

My knee felt good enough to make it down the stairs today so I went down to my scrap room and did some paper pages. I used the PageMaps book and got 4 pages done, well 2 one pagers and a 2 pager. Unfortunately my scanner is dead so I had to take photos, and I stink at taking photos of layouts so two are very blurry! I could use some help for you girls that do it all the time! All of these are for the Disney Album…

I am hoping to do a lot more paper pages than I did last year which was a pitiful 24. I’ve got 7 done so far so I’m off to a good start don’t you think?

It’s –9 degrees here today! WTH? I have to actually leave the house to go see the Orthopedic specialist today. Well at least it’s not snowing! :) I also have mom taking me to the grocery store since I haven’t gone since last week and the fridge is looking bare!

So in other news, I’m backing up photos and my digi kits. I hadn’t burned photos to DVD since 2007! OOPS got them all done but I’ve been working on my digi kits since yesterday. I have burned 27 DVDs so far which is close to 120 gig of files and I’m not close to being done yet. ACK!

I hear that it’s even cold in TX so I think the Winter Warlock is messing with us! I hope everyone stays warm! Have a great weekend!

If you don't have this on your computer and you have friends overseas you should! I got to talk to my good friend Jodene on the phone for an hour yesterday for free! How cool is that! A couple of years ago I called her from my home phone and we talked for like 10 minutes and it was $60. Plus she has a webcam so I could see her too. I still need to figure out how my webcam works so that next time she can see me. So fun! And nope I don't get anything for this plug I just had so much fun that I had to share!

I am still home from work and not getting paid because while my injury happened at work I don't think it's going under Worker's Compensation because I was just standing up and how is that work related? So that means leave without pay because I have no vacation time. Fun huh? I was hoping to go back tomorrow as that's what the doctors note says but at this point unless I can get a ride that isn't happening because there is NO way I can drive.

And other than that, nothing else going on here seeing as I'm pretty helpless! Have a great Wednesday!

Monday's Really do Stink!

Title edited as to not pick up any pervs because I really wanted to use another word there!

So I am having to cover for another girl that does the same job as me while she is out on medial leave this week. I went over to the building she is in at 6:30 this morning and had no luck with getting logged in to her computer so walked back to my desk. It's 20 degrees out, it's been snowing so the sidewalks are icy and slippery everywhere. I waited to get hold of IT people at 7:30 and got my computer issues fixed and went back thru the cold and ice. I am not in the other office 5 seconds when my favorite jasper beaded necklace breaks and beads go everywhere. I pick them all up put them in a baggie and go to plug in my laptop. I'm under a desk plug it and go to get up and something in my knee pops. I sit down and think it's just a twist or something so I rest it. Try to get up a few minutes later and I can't, cannot put an ounce of weight on it and forget walking. I had to call Michael and have him come get me. This is a feat because I work on an Air Force base and he can't get on base. Someone I work with has to get me off the base to meet him. They have to find me a wheelchair and load me in a car. Fun huh? Get to the ER, nothing is broken but I have to stay off of it for 3 days, be on crutches and go to an orthopedic doc next week if it's not better. So how's that for a Monday?

So I wake up this morning after a pretty uncomfortable night and the pain is pretty much gone! I am amazed, thinking wow how can that be to go from so much pain I'm crying to almost none overnight? Well Michael says you better be careful you could tweak it at anytime so yeah, I'm being careful but still happy. Well 1/2 hour after Jake is gone and I'm home alone I tweak it bending down to pick something up. OUCH! It freaking kills again! So if I blabber at any point to anyone in the next few days it will be the percocet talking!

Snowy Sunday

It snowed another 8 inches today. Michael got a call at 5am and I've been up since then. I scrapped a few pages for some digi site challenges, made spaghetti sauce with stuffed meatballs for dinner, changed the beds and did some laundry so even though I  never got dressed it was a productive day!

The Snow Test

What a Week!

I'm glad it's over. I had a busy week at work even with a snow day. I'm learning some new stuff to cover for another girl who will be out next week for some medical stuff so I have been running back and forth between two buildings to work. Thursday after Wed's storm I almost killed myself because I dress up for work and was wearing a suit with heels. I got to a point where I was almost skating/face planting and must have looked like a total idiot but I kept myself up and then proceeded over to the crunchy snow to walk the rest of the way. My feet were very cold and wet by the time I got to where I was going.  It's also interesting because I'll be working with all women for the first time in about 8 years. The last two jobs I've had all the people I worked closely with were men, just the nature of the 'engineering' world but this job the other Config. Managers are women. Let me tell you this is going to be a challenge. One woman who is at a lower level than me already resents me because I am doing the coverage instead of her.  She has a huge attitude with her 'lead' already and yesterday I was very uncomfortable with the bickering that was going on with the woman I'm covering for and the lead. Granted the woman is going in for surgery and was under a lot of stress but I am so not used to the crap that goes on between women at work! LOL! I can tell I'll be listening to my Ipod a lot!

Now as for crap between women, I've got my own thing going on at home with my MIL but I am so not getting into that! Let me just say that I've decided to distance myself from the situation and leave it at that. :)

And in other news, we are in for another whopper of a storm tonight! 5-10 inches is on the way. At least this time it's a weekend and the boys won't have another snow day to makeup. At this point they will be in school until July! Oh and it's also freezing!

Scrap Time

Michael was away this weekend visiting his parents and picking up Jake from his week long visit with the inlaws. It was just Josh and I at home. I decided I was going to get off my behind and head down to my scraproom. I got three pages done and let me tell you the more digi pages I do the harder it is to do a paper page! I was irritated because I couldn't find all the letters I needed in one chipboard patter. I of course had to mix which was fine but if it were digi I'd just duplicate my layer and be done!  But anyway, here are the pages I did:

Resolutions?

Did you make them? I did not, I have decided why set myself up to fail as I never have completed a resolution EVER! So with that being said I figured why should I just upset myself even more?  I thought I might do the 365 project but I'm not even going to commit to that. If I take a photo a day great, if not, well I definitely won't be surprised! LOL! So how about you?

It's Dang Cold

It's freezing here today! Hence the new blog look! Josh wants to go out to the pet store and I'm thinking it's a pj kinda day! It is currently 30 but feels like 18. It's windy too. I want to just go play in my scraproom but I'm thinking I gotta get this boy out from in front of the TV! He is loving the new big screen!

I think if I give in on the video games he may just want to stay home in pj's too! That doesn't make me a bad mom does it?
