I just want to tell you a little history about the park, it might make your son feel better.
The park is an important place for people to see wildlife and understand their habitat needs. So your son is right on the money with his feelings.
There is a dedicated group of people who are working hard to raise money to provide new homes for the animals at the park. Last week, the foxes were moved into a brand new space - habitat friendly and designed just for them. It's expensive. The group raised over $50,000 to make the bear habitat.
Maybe you can tell your son that lots of people feel that way and there are adults working to make life better for the animals at the park. The goal is to replace the old cages with all habitat-friendly enclosures. The name of the group is Friends of Maine Wildlife Park.
I'm glad you stopped at the park, hoping that the next time you stop in, the "bad" cages will all be gone!
ThanksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21443898.post-84962046177492692332007-09-06T23:25:00.000-04:002007-09-06T23:25:00.000-04:00Awwww, poor little guy! :( You should remind him o...Awwww, poor little guy! :( You should remind him of that when his room gets a little messy, LOL :)Rachaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11023822983506944293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21443898.post-65397291830809607192007-08-31T17:58:00.000-04:002007-08-31T17:58:00.000-04:00I know I'd feel the same way!
